Website redesign
Web design and development

Website redesign without losing your rankings

Give an outdated website a modern look, better speed and clearer calls to action, while protecting the search visibility you have built.

About this service

A fresh look that protects what already works

A redesign should make your website faster, clearer and better at winning enquiries. Done carelessly, it can also wipe out the Google rankings you have worked for. We plan every redesign around what is already performing.

We review your current pages, traffic and links, then redesign and migrate carefully so the pages that bring in customers keep doing so.

Why it matters

Why redesign your website

A website is never finished. A redesign brings it back in line with your business and your customers.

Look current

Design builds trust. An outdated site can cost you credibility.

Win more enquiries

Clearer pages and calls to action turn visitors into customers.

Load faster

Speed helps visitors stay and helps Google rank you.

Fit your business now

Reflect the services, prices and brand you have today.

By the numbers

What an out-of-date site costs you

Speed and reliability are measurable, and visitors notice both.

Problem and fix

Why your current website might be failing

We find the cause first, so the new site does not repeat the same mistakes.

The problem
How we fix it

A dated design that undermines trust

→

A modern, consistent design system with clear hierarchy and readable contrast.

Slow loading, especially on mobile

→

Image optimisation, caching and lean code to improve Core Web Vitals: Largest Contentful Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift and Interaction to Next Paint.

Unclear messaging and weak calls to action

→

A rewritten page structure with clear headings and a conversion path on every key page.

Poor search structure: duplicate pages, thin content, missing metadata

→

A re-planned site structure, 301 redirects from old URLs, tidy metadata and an updated XML sitemap submitted to Google.

Hard to update, so content goes stale

→

Reusable content blocks and a simple editor, with a handover so you can make changes yourself.

No tracking, so you cannot see what works

→

Analytics and conversion tracking set up so form submissions, calls and clicks are measured.

    Common questions

Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?

Not if it is planned properly. We keep your best-performing pages, set up redirects from old addresses to new ones and carry across your page titles and descriptions. Done carefully, a redesign usually helps your rankings because the new site is faster and clearer.

How long does a redesign take?

Most websites launch within 2 to 6 weeks, depending on the size of the site and how quickly your content and feedback are ready. We agree the timeline in your written quote and keep you updated as the work progresses.

Can I keep my existing content?

Yes. We can reuse content that works well and improve or rewrite the rest. We review what you have first and tell you which pages are worth keeping, which need a polish and which would be better replaced.

Do I need to change my domain or hosting?

No. Your domain can stay the same, and we can move hosting if that would help with speed or reliability. We will tell you if your current setup is holding the site back and explain your options.

How do you decide what to change?

We start by reviewing your current site, your search visibility and how visitors use it. That tells us what is working, what is failing and what to prioritise, so the redesign solves real problems rather than just changing how the site looks.

What happens to my old page addresses?

We map every important old address to its new equivalent with a permanent redirect. Anyone using an old link, bookmark or search result lands on the right page, and search engines understand the pages have moved rather than disappeared.

Will my site stay live while you work on it?

Yes. We build the new design separately and switch over only when you are happy with it, so your current site keeps working in the meantime. The switch is planned for a quiet time to keep any disruption minimal.

Can you keep my branding but modernise the look?

Yes. We can keep your logo, colours and tone and bring the layout, typography, photography and structure up to date. If your branding is also dated, we can refresh it as part of the project.
